BUY A FISH!

The mural on the wall of the Wagner Pool is the work of local artist (and founding Friend’s of the Pool board member) Patty Yates.

Your name can be painted on a fish too! This annual fundraising tradition is back. To sponsor your fish for yourself, your family or your business, go to the donation page and choose a level. Kid’s little fish start at just $10!

Preparing for the Next Pool

Nearly 70 people attended in-person in Twisp and Winthrop, and 301 completed the online survey in November 2024!

Thank you to everyone who bravely shared opinions, concerns and ideas, whether or not they were popular. We want to hear it all!

We’ll share more complete results soon. Here’s some of what we heard:

  • Keep it simple. Get a replacement, basic pool built quickly so the MV isn’t left without a pool. Phase construction.

  • Some swimming programs are wanted immediately: Adult lessons and adult team. Kids lessons at hours for working parents, including tot/parent time. Teen activities. Childcare, especially for families in Twisp.

  • Taxes are undesirable as a means of funding. But, user fees need to be affordable too.

  • Folks who don’t use the pool realize it’s important to the community as a whole for teaching water safety and for socializing.

  • Schools are a strategic partner for lessons, youth fitness and water safety.

Let’s do this kind of session again! Future topics to explore: Location. Financials of a Pool. Design/Engineering. Stay tuned for dates in the spring.

The Friends of the Pool cultivates and supports a vibrant aquatics community where people of all ages and abilities gather to learn, compete, heal and enjoy the water.

Our vision is a safe, welcoming, financially and environmentally sustainable swimming pool facility in Twisp serving the people of the Methow Valley.
