AQUATICS MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Friends of the Pool, a 5013c non-profit organization, is looking for a swimming pool manager who wants to build an amazing aquatics community with a growing organization.
Responsibilities of this position include managing the Methow Valley’s public swimming pool facility, staff, and developing and implementing a diverse range of aquatic programs to meet the needs of the community. We envision swim lessons, water fitness, lap swims, physical therapy opportunities, and community partnership programs including youth and Masters swim teams. The swimming pool is open to the public June-August; this seasonal position will require program planning, arranging hiring and training to prepare for the season, plus closing out records at the conclusion.
The Aquatics Manager will:
Develop and manage an annual budget for the Twisp Pool in conjunction with Friends of the Pool.
Recruit, hire, train and schedule lifeguards, Water Safety Instructor and program instructors.
Create and promote a vibrant aquatics community including new events and programs, such as: youth programs, pool rentals, fitness classes of all kinds, water games, and…bring your ideas!
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain pool systems, chemicals and facilities, in conjunction with the Town of Twisp.
Create and refine policies and procedures for the staff and facilities in a staff and operations handbook.
Qualifications:
Ability to work with and communicate with people of all ages and abilities.
Experience in personnel supervision, financial management and customer service. Comfort with point-of-sale systems and strong computer skills.
Experience in successful program development - classes, events or community oriented activities.
Current (or willing to obtain) these certifications: Lifeguard, First Aid/CPR, Water Safety Instructor, and pool operator certification.
Must be at least 21 years old, pass a background check, and meet the physical demands of the job. References will be required.
Pay:
Seasonal full time; hours will vary throughout the year and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays during the summer. Salary range $40-45K, dependent on experience, at an hourly rate. The position will start February or March 2026, and is negotiable for the right candidate.
